The neo-classical contour and baroque detailing of the SYN derived from the 18th Century Georgian school of design whose luminaries include Josiah Wedgewood, George Hepplewhite, Thomas Chippendale and the architect of St. Paul's Cathedral, London, Sir Christopher Wren. Its contours display the decorous restrained tastes of that school of design.
Parts of the Yale University Campus receive their light from this luminaire. High-strength cast aluminum structure and polycarbonate or acrylic globe. Several decorative bases are available for appropriate mating with a variety of ornamental posts.
SYN is designed to utilize a wide range of light sources, including LED, High Intensity Discharge (HID), Compact Fluorescent, Induction and others. These light source families provide high efficiency in lumen output, service life and energy use.
