SRL Roadway

This roadway luminaire has two features that enable it to meet ASA standards for acceptable brightness at greater than conventional pole spacing-to-mounting-height ratios. The first feature is the vertically positioned lamp, which maximizes utilization of the lamp's light emission. The second is the prismatic refractor, which spreads light evenly in a wide distribution and also directs lateral light emission downward to add to useful output.

A hinged refractor door with tool-less entry allows for simplified maintenance and relamping.  For pendant-mounted versions, an optional integral Plumbizer ensures that the luminaire installs plumb.

SRL is designed to utilize a wide range of light sources, including High Intensity Discharge (HID) and others. These light source families provide high efficiency in lumen output, service life and energy use.

Construction

All components to be of high-strength die cast aluminum. Refractor door is hinged to allow access for maintenance and relamping. Exceeds vibration standards detailed in ANSI C136.31-2001 Luminaire Vibration Testing. Exceeds New York City, Bridge and Roadway, Vibration and Shock Test Standards.

Optical

Prismatic refractor available in vandal-resistant acrylic, borosilicate glass and polycarbonate. Available in symmetrical and asymmetrical light distribution.

Available in a wide range of lamp choices and wattage ratings including High Intensity Discharge (HID), Incandescent and Induction.

Electrical

Meets UL 1598 for Safety. Luminaire shall have porcelain socket rated for 600V with 4kV pulse and uses a nickel-plated screw shell with spring-loaded center contact and lamp grips. Luminaires shall be prewired and factory tested. The ballast shall be a high power factor, constant wattage autotransformer type. The power factor shall be at least 90%.

Finish

To insure product durability, all exposed metallic surfaces shall be finished with a high performance coating consisting of high gloss Super Durable polyester powder coat paint to be applied utilizing a multistage process that includes phosphate pretreatment, electrostatic powder application, and convection curing. Paint shall be weather, corrosion, abrasion, and UV resistant in compliance with the American Architectural Manufacturers Association’s specification AAMA 2604-05. Color to be specified.

Mounting

Side mounts to a slipfitter which is gasketed and accepts 1 1/4” through 2 1/4” bracket arm.

Pendant mounts to a 1-1/4” NPS nipple using a 1-1/4” NPS coupling in top casting of luminaire. One (1) 3/8”-16 UNC stainless steel allen head cup point set screw stops the luminaire from unwanted movement on the nipple.   Optional PLZH Plumbizer replaces 1-1/4" NPS coupling to ensure luminaire installs plumb.
