SDAS-LED Downtown

The SDAS-LED Downtown luminaire, with its symmetrical proportions and gently arching crown, provides contemporary inspiration for boulevards and public spaces while its innovative optical design delivers the many benefits associated with solid state lighting technology.  Most notably, users will realize a reduction in energy consumption, maintenance, downtime, and various costs associated with today’s sustainable initiatives.

    

The Downtown luminaire’s unique combination of refractive borosilicate glass optics and LED modules is a groundbreaking advance in the evolution of solid state technology used for street and area lighting. The downward facing LEDs have an unobstructed path to the illuminated surface, providing a highly efficacious result.  As specified, several lens options are available to provide the desired optical performance.

    

SDAS luminaire is highly resistant to damage, weather and the passage of time. With its high-strength cast aluminum structure and borosilicate glass optics, it is able to withstand the rigors associated with roadway and area lighting. An optional twist lock receptacle on the top of the luminaire allows for the attachment of a receptacle photo control.

Construction

One-Piece housing and hinged door shall be made from high-strength ASTM 356.1 cast aluminum. Door shall be equipped with (2) captive screws on the street side to secure the door and shall be hinged to the housing on the house side. The hinged attachment shall allow for easy separation of the door and prevent accidental disengagement of the door. Borosilicate glass optics and accompanying gaskets shall be attached to the hinged door and shall create a weather tight seal for the optical chamber.

The top of the one-piece housing contains a casted feature that allows for the optional mounting of a twist lock receptacle.

LED components and driver(s) are securely affixed to the mechanical structures. A thermal management system dissipates heat to insure compliance with ratings of the LED components and driver(s).

Optical

Three (3) refractive lenses in combination with LED module and internal reflectors to optimize performance, distribution, and visual comfort.

Available in Type II short.  Additional configurations available upon request.

Electrical

Meets UL 1598 for Safety. Luminaire shall utilize voltage sensing 120-277V driver, suitably rated for the specified LED light engines.  Luminaire shall be prewired and factory tested.

Surge Protection

Surge current rating of 20 kA using standard 8/20 µSec wave.  Protected line-neutral, line-ground, and neutral-ground in accordance with ANSI/IEEE 62.41, Category C3.

Finish

To insure product durability, the luminaire shall be finished with a high performance coating consisting of high gloss Super Durable polyester powder coat paint to be applied utilizing a multistage process that includes phosphate pretreatment, electrostatic powder application, and convection curing.  Paint shall be weather, corrosion, abrasion, and UV resistant in compliance with the American Architectural Manufacturers Association’s specification AAMA 2604-05.  Color to be specified.

Mounting

Luminaire's slip fitter mounts to a roadway arm, Ø2” pipe bracket. Slip fitter shall have two (2) sets of three (3) 3/8”-16 UNC stainless steel set screws at 120° and one hex security bolt.
