SCSL Centre Street Lantern

This extraordinary early American style lantern incorporates beveled glass panels and topped with a bronze eagle on a pyramid-perch finial. The luminaire features an internal luminous ceiling which hides the light source and provides greater visual comfort, ideal for many elegant exterior applications. Made using a high-strength cast aluminum structure.

Panels available in laminated or tempered glass, acrylic or polycarbonate with thickness up to 1/4”. Tempered glass panels available with 1" bevel for the six rectangular central panels.

SCSL is designed to utilize a wide range of light sources. High Intensity Discharge (HID) and Compact Fluorescent are two light source families that provide high efficiency in lumen output, service life and energy use.

Construction

All structural components are made from high strength cast and extruded aluminum. Top hood casting shall contain a horizontally mounted lamp. the luminaire shall contain a horizontally mounted lamp. the luminaire shall have (14) individual panels. Internal top panel shall be frosted and create a luminous ceiling. Panel material is available in laminated or tempered glass, acrylic or polycarbonate. Panel thickness up to 1/4”. Tempered glass available with 1” bevel for the (6) rectangular central panels. Available with eagle and pyramid perch finial in solid cast aluminum or cast bronze.

Optical

Horizontally mounted lamp located in hood casting. Light distribution available in symmetrical and asymmetrical patterns.

Available in a wide range of lamp choices and wattage ratings including High Intensity Discharge (HID), Incandescent, Induction and Compact Fluorescent.

Electrical

Meets UL 1598 for Safety. Luminaire shall have porcelain socket rated for 600V with 4kV pulse and uses a nickel-plated screw shell with spring-loaded center contact and lamp grips. Luminaires shall be prewired and factory tested. The ballast shall be a high power factor, constant wattage autotransformer type. The power factor shall be at least 90%.

Finish

To insure product durability, all exposed metallic surfaces shall be finished with a high performance coating consisting of high gloss Super Durable polyester powder coat paint to be applied utilizing a multistage process that includes phosphate pretreatment, electrostatic powder application, and convection curing. Paint shall be weather, corrosion, abrasion, and UV resistant in compliance with the American Architectural Manufacturers Association’s specification AAMA 2604-05. Color to be specified.

Mounting

Special mounting provisions required. All mounting hardware shall be stainless steel.
