BOL-RETRO KIT LED Bollard Retrofit Kit

The LED Bollard Retrofit Kit enables the owner to realize the many benefits of solid state lighting while continuing to evoke the historical theme of many North American landmark parks, universities, and cities.  Field retrofitting of existing bollards is easily accomplished, resulting in an extended product life cycle and reduced operating costs.

The retrofit kit, recognized by Buildings Magazine as a 2013 Top Money-Saving Product, offers an upgrade of previously installed Sentry bollards.  A unitized LED optical assembly replaces the existing optical system to achieve long-lasting cost reductions along with a highly performing, lighting solution.  The existing bollard base and shaft need not be disturbed or replaced, which simplifies the installation process, reduces costs, and minimizes potential disruption to pedestrian or vehicular traffic.


When affixed to the bollard base, the Bollard Retrofit Kit assembly shall create a weather tight chamber for the LED component(s), driver(s) and internal optics, which are securely affixed to the mechanical structures.


The optical assembly is comprised of an acrylic lens and internal refractive components that produce a symmetrical or asymmetrical light distribution.


Meets UL 1598 for safety.  Bollard Retrofit Kit shall utilize voltage sensing 120-277V driver, suitably rated for the specified LED component(s).  LED rated life shall be no less than 50,000 hours.  Bollard Retrofit Kit shall be prewired and factory tested.

Surge Protection

Surge protected line-neutral, line-ground, and neutral-ground in accordance with ANSI/IEEE 62.41, Category C3.


Bollard Retrofit Kit replaces an existing bollard optical assembly that is attached to a bollard shaft.  Bollard Retrofit Kit is secured in place with (3) stainless steel allen head set screws.


To insure product durability, all exposed metallic surfaces shall be finished with a high performance coating consisting of high gloss Super Durable polyester powder coat paint to be applied utilizing a multistage process that includes phosphate pretreatment, electrostatic powder application, and convection curing.  Paint shall be weather, corrosion, abrasion, and UV resistant in compliance with the American Architectural Manufacturers Association’s specification AAMA 2604-05.  Color to be specified.
