Since its origin, Sentry has been a leader in the manufacturing of quality outdoor lighting. Founded over fifty years ago in New York City, the company soon outgrew its original quarters and moved to its current headquarter in Freeport, New York.
Over the past 50 years Sentry has constantly innovated its manufacturing capability in order to meet growing production demands by its worldwide expanding customer base. Sentry came to national prominence in the 1970s when it was selected as sole manufacturer of a unique luminaire to be installed throughout Manhattan's Central Park. That fixture, known as the Central Park luminaire, was winner of a design competition conducted by the Central Park Conservancy and has been marketed exclusively by Sentry since that time.
